Coco’s Outback wasn’t always an Australian bar in Amsterdam. Its’ story begins from 1987, when it was known as Mister Coco’s, a bar very well known among Dutch students for good deals on drinks especially on Fridays. Nowadays many people still refer to Coco’s Outback as Mister Coco’s, crazy history does not disappear that easily.
12 years back after successful business in RDT drinks “Wave” with kangaroo on its’ logo the owner of Mister Coco’s, Edward van Noord, decided to rebrand the place into an Aussie bar. And this is when Coco’s Outback was born to serve you its’ “lousy food and warm beer”.
Coco’s welcomes everybody, well alcohol is served only to those who’s over 18 years old. But it became really popular among Amsterdam expats and tourists for tasty menu, low prices, and layback atmosphere.
Coco’s Outback offers great food and delicious drinks. The bar has a spacious terrace with 220 seats and there are around 160 seats inside. This increases your chances of getting a table even for a big group without prior bookings, but also guarantees a properly crowded place during the happy hours.
If you are into sports and would like to support your team with your mates, well there is no better place than Coco’s. With 3 cable channels and 6 satellites, 28 TVs and two large screens all around the bar it is almost guaranteed you will find a perfect spot to enjoy the show.
Coco’s is probably the only place that offers 50% discount on food on Mondays, just think about it, 50%, this is crazy! I cannot believe I was not eating there every Monday! Well, this is going to change from this moment on.
Talking about specials, every day from 6 to 7PM and from 10 to 11PM there is a happy hour, and within those hours you can get lots of cocktails for very, I mean VERY, low price. Just as an example, Mojito – 4.70 EUR, a pitcher of frozen strawberry margarita is only 17.30 EUR. Is that even real? It is and it gets better. Every Wednesday there is a Student Night with happy hours from 10pm till the closing time, same thing for Mondays and Thursdays. On Thursdays there is a Karaoke night. If you brave enough to get on so-called stage and perform in front of, I would say thousands, because this is exactly how it felt to me when I decided to give it a try, you get a shot of Jagger as a prize no matter how good or bad (my case) it went!
