About Forest Gin
Forest Gin began life as a home distilling hobby for husband & wife team, Karl & Lindsay Bond and is now recognised as one of the worlds finest spirits. In 2016, Forest Gin became the only Gin in the world to be awarded two separate Double-Gold Medals at the San-Francisco World Spirit Awards.
Forest Gin Story
Back in 2014, using ingredients picked by their young daughter within the local forest, they eventually struck upon a recipe that they deemed good enough to share with others. At this point, they worked in collaboration with a local pottery company and a papercut artist to produce the unique porcelain bottle. The initial intention was to sell a few bottles to family, friends and perhaps the local pubs. However, since launch in January 2015, Forest Gin has been a phenomenal success and is now served in some of the worlds finest bars along with Michelin Starred restaurants and First Class Lounges.
The Bond family still produce every drop of Forest Gin themselves, using exactly the same methods & recipe for each tiny batch. The family pick many of the ingredients from the local forest, including bilberries, raspberries, wild flowers, pine, moss & ferns. These are ground by hand in a pestle & mortar, alongside many purchased ingredients such as Organic Juniper, Organic Coriander seed, liquorice, vanilla and many more. All ingredients are then steeped in a fine, Organic Italian grain spirit, before being distilled in a tiny 30 litre still. The resulting spirit is then blended with Forest Spring Water to 42%abv before being bottled.
